Is a special room rate available from the Hyatt Olive 8 hotel for this event?

Is this an escape room?
 
No, this is not a traditional escape the room game. It is a hosted narrative-driven real-life puzzle escape adventure designed for puzzle enthusiasts and fans of detective mystery stories. There will be multiple teams at the event space participating simultaneously. However, each team will have private interactions with relevant evidence and witnesses.
 
Do I need special knowledge, skill or ability to play?
 
No. The puzzles require no outside knowledge to solve. However, basic English comprehension is helpful so you can follow instructions during the game.
 
Do I need a full team?
 
No. The event is designed to be playable for teams of 1-4 players. You are welcome to play alone or with a team smaller than 4 players. As the registration is for the entire team, the per person cost would be higher if you are part of a smaller team.
 
Is there a minimum age requirement?
 
The recommended minimum age is 10 years old, however, we welcome younger players who love puzzles and are up for the challenge. Participants younger than 16 years of age should be accompanied by an adult.
 
What do I get for winning?
 
The objective is to solve the case within the time allotment and not to compete against other teams. We have designed a challenging adventure so completing it in time is a major accomplishment. All winning teams will be on Scotland Yard’s approved list of consulting detectives for future cases.
 
What if we don’t finish?
 
At the end of each session, we will go over all the puzzles with the entire group during debriefing.
 
Is the event wheelchair accessible?
 
Yes, the venue and the game setup are both wheelchair accessible.
 
What do I need to bring with me?
 
You will not need to bring tools, code sheet, or other supplies. Please be aware that you will be on your feet for at least 90 minutes, and there’s no place to store personal belongings so everything you bring you will have to carry with you.  We recommend leaving all unnecessary items at home. You will need to bring in a scannable ticket (can be on your phone) to check-in prior to the start of your session.
 
What should I wear to the event?
 
We recommend that you dress comfortably, as you will be on your feet and walking around throughout the adventure. However, if it helps you get in the character, you are welcome to show up in period costume.
 
Is outside food and drink allowed?
 
There is no outside food and drink allowed during the game.
 
Can I bring my pet?
 
Only service animals are allowed in the event space.
 
Can I bring my phone?
 
You may keep your phone, but we ask that you keep the ringer on silent, and do not use it for photo, video, or looking up information during the game.
 
Can I take photos?
 
We ask that you do not take photos during the game. There will be an opportunity for team photo at the end of the game.
 
Can I buy event specific merchandise?
 
You can add event exclusive merchandise to your cart before checking out and pick up your purchase onsite. You can also purchase them onsite at our merchandise area.
